Monday Crimson Tide Tidbits.. Spikes news, BCS and More

Texas replaced Alabama as the No. 2 team in the BCS. Alabama dropped to No. 3. Florida remains No. 1.

The Crimson Tide are tops in the SEC for Sacks and Sacks Allowed. We have 23 sacks and have allowed 8. LSU has 11 sacks and has given up 23. Big disparity. Their lack of a pass rush and lack of protecting the QB is what tips the scales in this game.

Coach Saban on the LSU Game:
"The game is about the players," Saban said today, "and there's a lot of good players. This is two very good teams that have good players on both sides. There's a lot to talk about in terms of what's going to happen on the field.

Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes has been suspended for the first half of their game against Vanderbilt after he attempted to gouge the eyes of Georgia running back Washaun Ealey last week. Gators coach Urban Meyer told reporters today that Spikes was retaliating for getting his eye poked earlier in the game.
