The 2009 Butkus Award winner said today that he will forgo his senior season with the Crimson Tide and will make himself eligible this spring for the NFL draft.
McClain led an Alabama defense that helped Alabama win the 2009 national championship. The Crimson Tide defeated Texas 37-21 last week in the championship game. Also today, defensive coordinator Kirby Smart has turned down a lucrative offer from the University of Georgia and will remain at Alabama, according to head coach Nick Saban.
