OT James Carpenter - JUCO newcomer , Carpenter solidified the offensive line, starting all 14 games at left tackle. As important to UA’s 2009 success as any other first-year player.
LB Nico Johnson -- Played in 12 games with two starts in 2009. Recorded 28 total tackles; 4.5 tackles for loss; two pass breakups; and a forced fumble as a true freshman. Named freshman all-SEC.
CB Dre Kirkpatrick -- Played in 12 games in 2009. Recorded eight total tackles while playing mostly on special teams.
DL Kerry Murphy -- Played in six games in 2009, recording three assisted tackles.
RB Trent Richardson -- Alabama’s second-leading rusher in 2009, piling up 751 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. Rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns in the Tide’s BCS title win against Texas. Freshman all-SEC.
OG Chance Warmack -- Played in five games in 2009.
S Rod Woodson -- Played in 12 games in 2009. Recorded seven tackles while working on special teams coverage units.
